Most people think brand identity means logo. It is much more than that.
Brand identity is how your business looks, sounds, and feels across every touchpoint. It includes your logo, yes. But also your colours, fonts, photography style, tone of voice, packaging, website design, social media style, business cards, email signatures, and how you answer the phone.
When all these elements are consistent, customers recognise and trust you instantly. When they are inconsistent, customers feel something is off, even if they cannot explain why.
Start with the basics:
- Define your brand colours (2-3 primary, 1-2 accent)
- Choose your fonts
- Write a short brand voice guide (how you sound: professional, friendly, bold, calm)
- Then apply these consistently everywhere
Brand identity is not about being pretty. It is about being memorable and trustworthy.
