Backlinks are when another website links to yours. Google sees these as votes of trust. The more quality backlinks you have, the higher you rank.

But not all backlinks are equal. A link from a respected industry site is worth 100 times more than a link from a random directory.

How to get quality backlinks:

• Create content worth linking to (guides, research, tools)
• Ask suppliers and partners to link to you
• Get listed in industry directories
• Write guest posts for other websites
• Sponsor local events (they usually link to sponsors)

Do not buy backlinks. Google will penalise you. Focus on earning links naturally through good content and real relationships. One quality backlink per month is better than 100 spammy ones.
